When you walk in a store and all the computer vendor carries is Intel, GET OUT. If you
are running a computer business you should know that AMD is a much better
alternative to Intel. Usually when a store only carries Intel based machines,
they are only using Intel
motherboards because they are cheap, and you do get what you pay for. Intel motherboards are built always with just what they need, no
more. They are usually very hard to upgrade and you can expect to replace the
full system every 2-3 years.
Stay FAR
away from Dell. They may have good prices, but they build your system to be
replaced every 2-3 years. From personal experience, we get a lot of dells in to
be “Upgraded” because the computer won’t play a game, or they wish to increase
the RAM size. I always feel so bad when I open up the case and tell the
customer we cannot do anything for them. Either there is no AGP slot, (for a
video card) or there are no empty ram slots to stick in another stick of RAM.
Not only
does dell to that, but MDG and a few other brand names like Compact (HP) are
also guilty of the same crimes. The only “OKAY” brand name computer is Acer,
but even then you must be careful. All of these companies are just trying to
make a quick buck on you and then have you come back 2-3 years later and invest
more money into them. A lot of the time, these companies will build refurbished
systems or use low quality parts
At JK
Computer Systems, we are not here for a quick buck and we like your money but
we don’t need it every 2-3 years. We custom build all are systems with only the
best parts we can get. All of our systems are upgradeable and should last a
strong 5 years, with only minor upgrades along the way. Not only are we making
it cheaper to afford a computer (because you don’t buy one every 2-3 years) but
we are also cutting down on E-Waste. We also try to take old parts from your
computer to and use them in your new system to again help keep the cost down
and the E-Waste. Not always is this feasible, but if you have perfectly good RAM
in the system you are replacing, why not add an extra 1 GB to the computer. After all,
it's not like it's going to be used for anything else. This helps out with the E-Waste
problem greatly. If everyone knew how many Dells were
sitting in landfills, they would be scared.
